We started with a problem worth fixing

In early 2024, I had £76 in my bank account and a decision to make.

Play it safe or build something that solved a real problem.

I chose the second.

Because I had spent years watching good firms get sold the same thing: a nice-looking website, vague marketing strategy, and no real answers when enquiries failed to show up.

That never sat right with me.

So she built Krystal Designs around one question: what does a website actually need to do if it is going to generate enquiries consistently?

The answer became EnquiryOS™.

Who does the work

After 15 years working on websites and marketing for professional services firms, the same pattern kept showing up: good firms with polished websites that were not generating enquiries. Not because the business was the problem. Because the website was not built to convert.

That is what Krystal Designs was built to fix.

Every project starts with strategy. The initial review, the approach, the messaging — all of it grounded in how your specific buyers actually think and decide, before anything is designed or written.

Outside of work, you will usually find me at a live concert, on a racquet court, or planning the next trip somewhere I have not been yet.

Ali has a background in cognitive behavioural therapy — which sounds like an unusual credential for a marketing role until you realise how much of what blocks a firm’s marketing is psychological rather than technical.

She is the reason clients never have to chase us for an update. Every client has visibility of what is happening and why, and if you have a question between calls, Ali is who you speak to — and you will get a straight answer, not a holding response.

Her CBT background also feeds into the content and messaging work we do for clients. She brings a perspective on how professional buyers actually make decisions that most marketing teams simply do not have.

Outside of work, Ali is usually on a beach somewhere, coffee in hand, planning the next open water swim or working out which sport to try next. Live music and long-haul travel are the other constants. 

Alongside Krystal and Ali, we work with a specialist developer and content support. Every project has the right expertise without the overhead of a large agency.
